What counts toward the 3,000
Body text, mentions, hashtags, emoji, and line breaks. LinkedIn does not shorten URLs the way Twitter does; a pasted URL counts as its literal length.
Writing rules that fit 3,000
- First two lines are the whole game. Everything after the See more is bonus.
- Space between paragraphs beats a wall of text. LinkedIn strips extra newlines but keeps one blank line between paragraphs.
- Three to five hashtags at the end is standard. Inline hashtags read as noise.
